LAR Commences Activities Wednesday
MONROVIA, DECEMBER 14, 2021: The Liberia Athletes Reunion (LAR), a conglomeration of former athletes, administrators, coaches, sports promotors and enthusiasts has outlined several activities beginning this Wednesday, December 15.
The Chairman of the Organizing Committee, D. Zeogar Wilson, who's also Minister of Youth and Sports said the activities kick off this Wednesday at the Samuel Kanyon Doe (SKD) Sports Complex in Paynesville at 10am with medical services for former athletes, administrators, coaches, and supporters.
The activities continued on Thursday, the 16th with community outreach in New Kru Town, Stephen Tolbert Estate and at The Right to Play Field in the SKD Community.
On Friday, December 17th, LAR will do a business session from 9:00am-3:00 pm in the SKD Conference Room where key issues of the union will be discussed.
The day will also witness a spectacular basketball showdown between LAR and Jamaica Spartacus at 6:00pm in the SKD gymnasium. The will be Volleyball between an All Star team and Jamaica Spartacus at 5pm in the GYM.
Day four, Saturday, December 18th will be an all sports day involving LAR, Jamaica Spartacus, former players Association and Union of Liberian Athletes in Europe.
A grand dinner and honoring ceremony at the Ministerial Complex in Congo Town by 8:00pm will climax the four-day event. Admission: VIP $50, Ordinary $25
LAR's mission is to bring athletes, sports promotors, managers, entertainers, and sports enthusiasts annually for the purpose of socializing, recognizing deserving athletes and fans, and implementing vital projects for the future of athletes and creating a roadmap for further unions.
